Episode 891 - LONESOME HUNTER AND THE LANGSPIL'S AMERICAN COUSIN

Today on RÚV English Radio, the connections being made between traditional Icelandic and American music.

Gabriel Dunsmith is one half of Lonesome Hunter (https://lonesome-hunter.bandcamp.com/album/the-reykjav-k-sessions), who play traditional Appalachian music on the mountain dulcimer, which is an American cousin of the Icelandic langspil.

He also runs the trad sessions at Ægir Bar in Reykjavík (https://www.facebook.com/groups/RVKsession), an informal group of musicians that gathers twice a month.
