Today, RÚV English Radio is back in Vestmannaeyjar.
Discussions about infrastructure in Vestmannaeyjar often take place. The water pipeline to the town and the islands was damaged last year, and despite repairs, now operates in a damaged state. There is no back up pipeline. Conversations about improving connectivity in the town also focus on the harbour, and the possibility that a tunnel might one day connect to the mainland.
Darren met Íris Róbertsdóttir, mayor of Vestmannaeyjar, to find out how plans for all these improvements are progressing.
