Episode 297 - CULTURE IN THE NORTH

Today, RÚV English is in Akureyri, at The Hof.

The Icelandic government recently announced plans for Akureyri to become Iceland's second city, in a more formal way than before. Akureyri's mayor has also said that more money is needed to allow culture and the arts, so important not just to Akureryi but the north more widely, to flourish.

At the end of February, Darren spoke to Þórgnýr Dýrfjörð, of the town's employment and culture division, to discuss.
