Today, RÚV English Radio looks at a new exhibition opening at SÍM Hlöðuloftið Korpúlfsstaðir this Sunday.
Shipwreck - https://www.facebook.com/events/336528909543776 - is an exploration of art as something to be lived in and among. Six North American artists have brought with them ruins of potential futures of ecological, political, and cultural crisis. Six Icelandic artists were then tasked with making a home among these ruins.
The works can be seen at SÍM Hlöðuloft, Korpúlfsstaðir, Thorsvegur 1, 112 Reykjavik (https://maps.app.goo.gl/6x9eArfTnrK9VZfRA)
Supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and SÍM Residency, the work will be open and available from 5pm on June 16, until June 25, 2024, noon to 8 pm daily.
Darren met with artists Jerrold McGrath, Kasra Goodarznezhad, and Tom Manoury.
