RÚV English Radio previews the next live coding space in Reykjavík - but not before finding out what live coding actually is!
At the capital's Grófin city library, the next Núritun Live Coding Space open meeting is on Monday. But what is "live coding"? What is coding, for that matter?
Live coding, is "a creative approach to computer programming, where the performer creates music or art by writing, editing and manipulating computer code in real time, usually in front of an audience."
Darren went to Grófin to meet Karl James Petska, creative technology project manager at the City Library, Dagur Kristinn Sigurðsson Björnsson, educator, and joining on Zoom from Detroit, Jack Armitage, aka Lil Data, recording artist and coder from the UK.
