Today on RÚV English Radio, one story naturally dominates: yesterday's volcanic eruption around and in Grindavík.
It was the eruption nobody wanted to see, coming up partially in the town itself and destroying three homes. However, defensive walls built around the town kept a great deal of lava away, diverting it to the west instead.
In a conversation recorded on Monday afternoon, Darren is joined by his RÚV colleague Ingunn Lára Kristjánsdóttir to discuss what has happened, what happens next, and whether residents will return to the town, damaged not only by the eruption but by earthquakes in November, and by the threat of more eruptions in the future.
