Today RÚV English is in Kópavogur, looking ahead to the Hamraborg Festival.
Hamraborg Festival focuses on visual arts, site-specific works, performance art and social engagements.
It takes place every year at the end of August in Hamraborg, Kópavogur. This year's festival will be held between August 25th to 27th, with exhibitions open for a week between August 23rd to 30th.
Every year the program includes art exhibitions, events, performance art pieces, music concerts, readings, screenings, dance works, street art and workshops open for everyone. All exhibitions take place in the Hamraborg district, where for a whole week local shops, offices, public places, bars and restaurants turn into exhibition spaces. And all events are completely free!
Details are at https://www.hamraborgfestival.is
Darren is joined by Joanna Pawlowska from the festival and artist Elísabet Birta Sveinsdóttir to find out more.
