Today, RÚV English Radio is in Neskaupstaður.
The East Iceland town is home to the Menningarstofa Fjarðabyggðar culture house (https://www.east.is/en/service/east-iceland-church-and-cultural-center), and is also currently the venue for an exhibition of photos and poems by Dagbjört Elva Sigurðardóttir (https://www.facebook.com/events/320679047745704), which continues as part of the Innsævi festival (https://www.facebook.com/innsaevi/) until 7 July.
Dagbjört moved into her parents-in-law's home at Skorrastaðir in Norðfjörður, and wanted to document the feelings, memories and the spirit of that in a permanent way. She grabbed her camera, and her pen.
Darren spoke to Jóhann Ágúst Jóhannsson at the centre, to learn more about the exhibition.
