Today, Darren meets up again with his first ever guest on RÚV English Radio - when it was the RÚV English Podcast...
Kaśka Paluch is a musician who has captured the sounds of this country in her Noise From Iceland project - https://noisefromiceland.com/
She has now also decided to rediscover her "other love - acid techno". She has been obsessed with the "acid" sound of the Roland TB-303 since she started making music in the 90s, and her new EP is of minimal/acid techno "strongly inspired by the dystopian atmosphere of "1984" by Orwell". It's released under the name of Mindfact - hear it at https://mindfact.bandcamp.com/album/room-303
But Kaśka hasn't turned her back on Icelandic "noise", indeed, she releases a new project called "Noise To Sleep" this Sunday, 18 February - https://noisefromiceland.bandcamp.com/album/noise-to-sleep
"Noise To Sleep" features "field recordings of lava flows, the haunting howl of storms, the serene songs of birds, the delicate crackling of ice, and the tranquil waters of lakes. These sounds, collected from the diverse corners of Iceland, serve as the album's foundation, inviting listeners into a meditative experience that transcends the boundaries of traditional music."
Darren met again with Kaśka to hear all about her latest works.
