First real winter snow in Akureyri

Snow has fallen in Akureyri and elsewhere in the North today. Although it snowed in the North this summer and autumn, this can be called the first real snowfall of the winter.

Tourists who were on their way through the city this morning were warmly wrapped, and several queues have formed at tyre workshops for the annual switch to winter tyres, although many drivers in the north are already using them.

Snow also fell in many other parts of Iceland, including the capital area.
