On Saturday, the ten songs which will compete in this year's Söngvakeppnin were revealed. As previously, two heats lead to the final: the first on February 17 and the second on February 24. The results will be decided on March 2 in Laugardalshöll.

RÚV says that the final decision on Iceland's participation in Eurovision rests with the broadcaster. The responsibility for the decision is not being passed on to the competitors - however, no one will be forced to participate.
